Patient Safety Excellence Award

We’re proud to be the only hospital in the State of Alabama ranked among the top 10% of hospitals nationwide for patient safety—not once, but two years running—by Healthgrades, the nation’s leading organization for independent healthcare ratings.

This distinction reflects the daily efforts our team makes to create a safer, more reliable experience for every patient. From advanced safety protocols to continuous quality improvements, we’ve built a culture where protecting your well-being isn’t just a priority—it’s our promise.

To determine the top-performing hospitals for patient safety, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted complication and mortality rates for approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Healthgrades’ analysis revealed significant performance gaps between the nation’s highest- and lowest-achieving facilities, making it increasingly important for consumers to seek care at a hospital with top safety ratings. An annual study found that patients treated in hospitals that received the 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award have a significantly lower chance of experiencing one of the four leading safety indicators than patients treated at non-recipient hospitals:

  • In-hospital falls resulting in fracture (54% less likely)
  • Collapsed lung due to a procedure or surgery in or around the chest (approximately 55% less likely)
  • Pressure sores or bed sores acquired in the hospital (approximately 69% less likely)
  • Catheter-related bloodstream infections acquired in the hospital (72% less likely)

When you choose Prattville Baptist Hospital, you’re choosing a place where every detail is designed with your safety in mind—and where every person is committed to delivering care you can count on.

3D Image Advanced Heart Check

Now available at Prattville Baptist Hospital, our Advanced Heart Check helps catch potential heart issues at the start–before they become a bigger problem. That means you can take action early and keep your heart going strong.

Accurate & Affordable

Our Advanced Heart Check begins with a 128-slice CT scan that provides enhanced 3-D views of the inner workings of your heart. This provides our expert cardiologists and radiologists the best means to diagnose any areas of concern.

Don’t Miss A Beat

It’s quick and easy, so you can schedule a normal day of activity around the procedure. Following your test, you’ll receive a CD to view the images of your heart and a medical summary of your results. Any and all results should be shared with your primary care physician for further consultation and recommendation.

Peace of Mind

Never has it been easier to rule out normal aches and pains and to fully understand if your heart is healthy. If you or someone you love have known risk factors for heart disease such as family history, obesity, stressed lifestyle, history of smoking or diabetes, the Advanced Heart Check is for you.

Advanced Heart Check Gift Cards Make A Great Gift Idea!

Advanced Heart Check gift cards are available at Baptist Medical Center South, Baptist Medical Center East and Prattville Baptist Hospital gift shops. Please ask the gift shop volunteer for assistance when purchasing.

If you do not have a physician order, one will be coordinated for you through the scheduling process.
